Good choices in this respect are the products of Photonis (2nd generation) and 3rd generation cathode ray tubes with GaAs photo cathode. Light radiation with a wavelength of 905 nm is not even detected by more sensitive wildlife species such as e.g. deer. Despite the high wavelength, long ranges can be achieved. Compared with the LA850-50-PRO, an astonishing range of approx. 70% is still achieved with 3rd generation GaAs and approx. 80% with 2nd generation Photonis devices. 2nd generation Russian night vision devices, on the other hand, only achieve 40-50% of this range.
